America, post Charlie Kirk's recent actions, is engulfed in a wave of fury.

In a shocking turn of events, Charlie Kirk, a prominent figure, was assassinated in 2025 during a campus event at Utah Valley University. The convicted person, Tyler James Robinson, a 22-year-old electrician apprentice, was charged with aggravated murder and six other counts, and the crime is considered politically motivated.

The news of Kirk's demise has caused extreme trauma at the university and beyond. In the wake of the tragedy, people have been holding candles and singing during memorial and prayer vigils. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson led a vigil to honour Kirk, expressing his condolences and paying tribute to the slain figure.

Social media, unfortunately, has become a platform for some to spew garbage and curse, often hiding behind screen names. In the aftermath of Kirk's assassination, there have been sickos who celebrated his demise online. Consequently, several professors, teachers, journalists, and others have been fired for such distasteful behaviour, despite having no personal connection to Kirk.

The assassination has also sparked intense scrutiny into the investigations related to the case. FBI Director Kash Patel is facing questions from lawmakers regarding his handling of the investigation into Kirk's assassination and the case related to Jeffrey Epstein. Adam Schiff, a prominent lawmaker, has been relentless in his questioning of Patel at a hearing this week.

Interestingly, the political landscape has shown stark contrasts in terms of anger and aggression. While Donald Trump, known for his constant battles, is fuelled by a sense of grievance, Democratic presidents, with the exception of LBJ, haven't been known for their anger. Joe Biden was secluded and conciliatory, Barack Obama was about the audacity of hope, and Bill Clinton ran as a southern moderate.

Even outside the political sphere, instances of unchecked anger and vitriol can be seen. Elon Musk made a statement declaring 'the left' as 'the party of murder.' Such statements, while controversial, highlight the need for more thoughtful and considerate discourse, especially in times of tragedy.

Passion is good, but railing at people you don't know on social media is not. The line 'I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!' is one of the most famous lines in movie history, delivered by the sweating, wild-eyed anchor played by Peter Finch. However, the context of the movie, 'Network,' was fictional, and in real life, such outbursts often lead to more harm than good.

In the midst of these events, it's essential to remember the humanity that underlies every individual. Let us strive for understanding, empathy, and respect in our interactions, both online and offline.
