Amazon reveals significant revelation about "Summer I Turned Pretty" following series conclusion
The popular Amazon Prime series "The Summer I Turned Pretty" is set to continue its captivating story with a movie adaptation, as confirmed by its author and director, Jenny Han.
The news has sparked excitement among the show's diverse audience, which spans various age groups, including college-aged women and 50-year-old men. The series, spanning three seasons, has been a hit on social media, with fans eagerly awaiting updates.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Han expressed her gratitude for Prime Video's continued support, stating that it has enabled her to share the final chapter of the story with the fans. She also mentioned that the movie will likely cover a remaining milestone in the journey of the main character, Belly.
However, details about the plot are scarce. What we do know is that Season 3 followed Belly's "ill-fated wedding" to Jeremiah before moving to Paris, France, for a new start. The finale saw Belly finally making a choice on whether or not she wanted to be with Conrad.
The movie will star Lola Tung, who portrays Belly, and Christopher Briney, who plays Conrad. A picture of the two actors in front of signs announcing the movie was shared on the show's official Instagram account. Aside from Tung and Briney, the show also starred Gavin Casalegno (Jeremiah), Sean Kaufman (Steven), Rain Spencer (Taylor), Jackie Chung (Laurel), Tom Everett Scott (Adam) and Rachel Blanchard (Susannah).
Interestingly, Han will be directing the movie herself. Known for her outspoken love for Taylor swift, the show features multiple Taylor swift songs, adding to its emotional appeal.
Fans can look forward to the movie, with hopes that it will provide a satisfying conclusion to the beloved series. As Han expressed, "I'm so grateful to Amazon for allowing me to tell this story in its entirety, and I can't wait for everyone to see what's next for Belly and the Fisher family."
