Amazon Adapting Ruth Ware's 'The Lying Game' for Prime Video
Amazon MGM Studios is bringing another page-turner to life. 'The Lying Game', a psychological YA thriller by Ruth Ware, is being adapted for TV. Ware's third novel, published in 2017, tells the tale of four childhood friends and a deadly secret. It was an instant New York Times bestseller and a Reese's Bookclub Pick.
The series is being developed by Ted Gold, known for his work on 'Yellowstone' and 'Waco', and Susan Rovner, who brought us 'Night Court' and 'Ted'. Amazon is closely collaborating with author Ruth Ware during the adaptation process, as seen with 'The Lying Game'. The show is set to be part of Amazon Prime Video's expansion of YA content.
Suzanne Heathcote, who is also working on 'The Miniature Wife' for Hulu and 'Best Offer Wins' for Hulu, is writing the series and executive producing alongside Gold and Rovner. The television adaptation is slated for release on Prime Video in October 2023. Additionally, Gold has optioned another of Ware's books, 'Turn Of The Key', for a feature film development.
Fans of Ware's novel can look forward to seeing 'The Lying Game' on Amazon Prime Video later this year. With a talented team behind the scenes and a gripping story at its core, the series promises to be a must-watch for thriller enthusiasts.
