Amateur Music Boost in Saxony-Anhalt 🎶🎶
Three promising music projects in the heart of Saxony-Anhalt are set to receive funding! This thrilling news was shared by Katrin Budde, an influential SPD Member of Parliament and Chair of the Bundestag's Committee on Culture and Media, at an announcement held on Thursday.
One of the lucky recipients is the "Singen macht Freu(n)de" initiative by the Förderverein Kinder- und Jugendchor der Lutherstadt Eisleben e.V. They'll receive a generous boost of almost 3,500 euros, while "Tierisch gut!" from Magdeburg's musical group will pocket a substantial 10,000 euros. Lastly, the vibrant vocal ensemble InTakt e.V. Magdeburg will receive almost 8,600 euros for their enlightening project "Sound and beat. Day and night. InTakt meets light, dance and percussion."
The process started during the adjustment session for the 2023 federal budget. Budget committee members proposed a thoughtful initiative for an amateur music fund with a value of five million euros, and their idea came to fruition. Originally, 3.73 million euros were earmarked for project funding, yet the total number of awards reached a total of 206 grants.
