Altoona secures victory in Game 2, besting Baysox

The Chesapeake Baysox faced a 4-2 defeat against the Altoona Curve in a close-fought game at Prince George's Stadium on Wednesday night.

Nestor German, the Baysox's starter, pitched 5.2 innings, allowing two runs, and recording five strikeouts and no walks. Despite his strong performance, German could not secure the win, with Justin Meis (2-1) earning the victory for Altoona.

In the sixth inning, Yaqui Rivera entered the game, retiring the final out of the inning and pitching a clean seventh. The Baysox managed to tie the game at two in the seventh, with Alfredo Velasquez driving in a run with a double.

However, Altoona regained the lead in the bottom of the eighth, scoring two runs. The runs were driven in by a Nick Cimillo two-RBI double off Walter Pennington, who was credited with the loss (0-1). Wilkin Ramos secured a save (3) for Altoona in the game.

The series between the Chesapeake Baysox and Altoona Curve continues tomorrow evening. Trey Gibson will start for the Baysox, while Po-Yu Chen will take the mound for Altoona.
