Alteration in the Press Division
The Press Council, a recognised pillar for press freedom in Germany, has announced that Sonja Volkmann-Schluck will be stepping down as the Public Relations Officer on 30 September 2025. Sonja has worked at the Press Council for nearly eight years, contributing significantly to its operations.
Roman Portack, the Managing Director of the Press Council, has praised Sonja's work and contributions, expressing gratitude for her outstanding service. He also expressed well wishes for her future path.
Taking over from Sonja Volkmann-Schluck on 1 October 2025 is Anna Ernst, an experienced media journalist. Anna has completed her training at the Funke Mediengruppe in North Rhine-Westphalia and Berlin, and has worked as a chief reporter at Medieninsider, news editor, and media journalist at Süddeutsche Zeitung.
