Alphabet’s AI and cloud surge fuels record profits in Q3 2025
Several major companies have reported strong financial results in recent quarters, with growth driven by energy, cloud computing, and AI services. GE Vernova, Alphabet, and smaller firms like Primoris Services and Nebius Group all showed significant revenue increases.
Analysts now expect this upward trend to continue well into 2026, as demand rises in sectors like renewable energy, fintech, and specialised AI infrastructure.
GE Vernova’s third-quarter revenue climbed 12% compared to the same period last year. This growth pushed the company back into profit, supported by rising demand for its power grid solutions and gas turbines. The division’s grid and electrification equipment saw the strongest gains, with revenue more than doubling year over year. Meanwhile, the wind turbine business maintained steady, sustainable expansion.
The company’s backlog also expanded significantly in the first three quarters of 2022, reinforcing expectations of continued growth. Analysts now project further gains for GE Vernova in 2026 and beyond. Alphabet’s cloud computing division outperformed larger rivals like Microsoft and Amazon, recording 33% year-over-year revenue growth in the third quarter. Operating profits in this segment surged by 84%, helped by the company’s self-designed Tensor Processing Units (TPUs). These chips have become a favoured option for institutions needing tailored AI platforms. Smaller firms also posted impressive results. Primoris Services saw revenue jump 32%, while SoFi Technologies grew by 38%. O’Reilly Automotive reported strong third-quarter earnings and raised its financial guidance. All three companies are expected to keep expanding due to demand in energy infrastructure, fintech, and auto parts. Nebius Group, a cloud provider specialising in AI data centre services, reported even sharper growth. Its 2025 revenue is forecast to rise by 373% year over year, with acceleration to over 500% in fiscal 2026. The company’s strength lies in AI model training, particularly for inference tasks, where it offers cloud-based access to high-performance computing.
The latest financial reports highlight robust growth across multiple industries. GE Vernova’s energy solutions, Alphabet’s cloud and AI services, and smaller firms in infrastructure and fintech all show strong momentum. With analysts predicting further expansion, these companies appear well-positioned for the coming years.
