Almaty Weather Outlook: Anticipated Snowfall and Warm Temperatures over the Next Seven Days
Almaty residents can expect a mix of weather conditions over the next few days, according to the latest forecasts from Kazhydromet.
On September 20, the city is expected to have variable cloudiness with no precipitation. Northeast wind speed will be 3-8 m/s, with night temperatures ranging from +9°C to +11°C and day temperatures ranging from +19°C to +21°C.
The head of the weather forecasting department of RSE "Kazhydromet" Almaty, Daulet Kisebayev, expects the next three days in the city to be dry. However, a surprise heavy precipitation was reported on September 19 before the weather was expected to become dry.
Looking ahead, September 21 and September 22 are predicted to be dry days as well, with northeast wind speed ranging from 3-8 m/s. Night temperatures will range from +8°C to +10°C, and day temperatures will range from +21°C to +23°C on September 21, and from +23°C to +25°C on September 22.
However, September 23 is expected to bring cloudy weather with heavy rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon. West wind speed on this day will be 3-8 m/s, with gusts up to 15 m/s. Night temperatures will range from +13°C to +15°C, and day temperatures will range from +19°C to +21°C.
As for the rest of the week, September 24 is expected to have variable cloudiness with rain expected at night. Night temperature will range from +11°C to +13°C, and day temperature will range from +20°C to +22°C. September 25 and September 26 are predicted to have variable cloudiness with no precipitation. Northeast wind speed on these days will be 3-8 m/s. Night temperature will range from +8°C to +10°C, and day temperature will range from +23°C to +25°C.
It's worth noting that light rain is possible in mountainous areas of Almaty, and snowfall is expected in high mountain areas.
The Emergency Situations Department of Almaty has provided recommendations to avoid inconveniences during bad weather. Residents are advised to stay updated on the latest forecasts and to take necessary precautions. Meteorologists have also warned Almaty residents about possible heavy rain, mainly on September 19.
