Almaty Police Detain Gang Suspected in Million-Dollar Armed Burglary
Almaty police have detained three suspects following an armed burglary in the Medau district on September 12. The incident involved three masked men, one armed with a pistol, who stole property worth 500 million tenge from a private entrepreneur's house.
The suspects, two from Almaty and one from the Almaty region, are believed to be part of a gang responsible for several armed burglaries in the area over the past months. The stolen items included jewelry, expensive branded watches, and cash. The robbers threatened the residents and tied them up before fleeing the scene. Material evidence, including the stolen jewelry and watches, was recovered from the suspects. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
The suspects, who have a history of similar crimes in Almaty and the Almaty region, are now in custody. The police are continuing their investigation to ensure all those involved in the crime are brought to justice.
