Almaty hosts commencement of 2021 Rythmarathon
Revamped & Rebound: The Rýh-Marathon 2021 Experience
Prepare to break a sweat for a cause this year! The Almaty Youth Policy Development Fund and the Anti-Narcotics Division of the city's police department got together to arrange a one-of-a-kind citywide sporting event - the first city-wide sports spartakiada "Rýh-Marathon". This exhilarating event took place at recreational centers, marking the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan's Independence and International Children's Day, with the backing of the city's public development department.
Spanning over a month, the Rýh-Marathon wasn't just a competition; it was part of a month-long campaign aimed at discouraging drug abuse and promoting a healthy lifestyle under the inspiring slogan "We've Got Our Eyes on a Healthy Life". Participants could take part in a variety of sports activities, such as mini-football, bowling, table tennis, and street basketball.
The Rýh-Marathon kicked off with congratulatory speeches by notable guests and organizers. Among them were Deputy Chief of the Anti-Narcotics Division, Colonel of Police Sagyndyk Aygynov, Head of the Sports Department of FSO "Dinamo" Adilbek Arzymbaev, Head Coach of FSO "Dinamo" and Race Referee Vitaliy Sokyryko, and Director of the Almaty Youth Policy Development Fund Alma Auyanbaeva.
The event was filled with exciting performances and demonstrations. The Special Response Team showed off their unmatched skills, the Almaty Police K-9 Unit exhibited their prowess, and the Almaty Police Orchestra's soloist, Ergaly Aldiyar, performed the patriotic song "Alğa Qazaqstan" to bring a stirring sense of unity to the event. The cheerleading team of the "Ayla Life" recreational center also added to the electrifying atmosphere.
Before the competition, participants were given a run-through of the rules and divided into 4 groups, each consisting of 6-7 teams. They embarked on two laps of an 800-meter distance. Professional judges meticulously recorded each participant's time and entered it into the final results protocol. The "Jas Oren" recreational center took first place, "Aldaespan" D.C. placed second, and "Jas Art" D.C. came in third. Every single participant received trophies, medals, and commemorative diplomas, while young athletes enjoyed the added treat of ice cream on Children's Day.
Mark your calendars for the next mini-football competition on June 8th - registration is already open!
