Gather 'round, mate!

A 19-year-old suspected of stabbing a 15-year-old boy to death in a scuffle at Pleinfeld's train station in Middle Franconia has a history of brushes with the law. According to Ansbach's chief prosecutor, Jonas Heinzlmeier, the suspect has been convicted of several violent offences and weapon law breaches. Despite her past convictions, some cases against her were dismissed under juvenile justice conditions.

The young woman, a German national, has been in police custody since Sunday on suspicion of manslaughter. Reports suggest that the victim was injured with a pocket knife. The Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation had previously provided additional details concerning the criminal case.

Did racial slurs spark the dispute?

The victim and the suspect were reportedly part of two separate groups of pals who crossed paths in a town near Brombachsee on Saturday evening. Their conversation turned sour and erupted into an argument, with the exact cause of the disagreement still unclear. Police consider the possibility that the 15-year-old may have been racially abused prior to the altercation. The victim holds dual German-Brazilian citizenship, Heinzlmeier confirmed.

Investigators are still looking into potential motives, and further questioning of witnesses is expected in the coming days.
