On the morning of June 14, the day of the assassination of congresswoman Melissa Hortman and her spouse, it was disclosed that he previously targeted the residences of four state officials in Minnesota, intending to commit murders, according to federal prosecutor Joe Thompson.

Alleged Slayer of U.S. Congressman Pondered More Democrat Assassinations

In a chilling revelation, it emerged on Monday that a suspect, Vance Boelter, 57, had visited the residences of four elected officials in Minnesota with a sinister intention: to carrying out executions.

Authorities arrested Boelter on Sunday night, and he now faces a barrage of federal charges, including two counts of murder with a firearm, which could potentially lead to a lifetime imprisonment or a death penalty, as U.S. Attorney Joe Thompson announced at a press conference.

In the pre-dawn hours of June 14, Boelter made attempts on the lives of these political figures. Two attempts, however, fell through. One was due to the targeted congresswoman being on vacation with her family and the other because a police car was present at the scene.

Inside Boelter's vehicle, investigators found a notebook containing a list of elected representatives, including the targets and other political figures in Minnesota.

Boelter as a Cunning Imposter

Boelter is alleged to have donned a police uniform to execute Melissa Hortman, the president of the Minnesota House of Representatives, and her husband, Mark Hortman. He is also accused of inflicting severe injuries upon Rep. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette.

Remarkably, Boelter faces not only two counts of murder but also two counts of attempted murder in Minnesota. The state's Attorney General, Mary Moriarty, has expressed intent to bring first-degree murder charges.

A Divided Nation on Edge

This heinous act unfolded in a nation that finds itself growing more polarized, with military personnel being deployed in Los Angeles to quell protests, a military parade proposed by the U.S. President in Washington, and widespread anti-Trump demonstrations nationwide.

During the election campaign, Donald Trump narrowly escaped two assassination attempts. One such incident occurred during a rally in Pennsylvania last July [3]. As for the current situation in Minnesota and the possibility of Trump reaching out to Tim Walz, the state's governor and a former political adversary, Trump, in response to questions posed by an ABC journalist on Sunday morning, merely stated:

"With Lusa"

Boelter's alleged intention to carry out executions extended not only to the president of the Minnesota House of Representatives, Melissa Hortman, and her husband, Mark Hortman, but also to at least two other elected officials in Minnesota, as indicated by the list found in his vehicle. The attempted attacks underscore the tense political climate in the U.S., where military personnel were deployed in Los Angeles to quell protests, a military parade was proposed by the President, and there were widespread anti-Trump demonstrations, coinciding with two assassination attempts on him during the Presidential election campaign.
