Shocking Revelations: Smokey Robinson and Wife Accused of Sexual Assault and Abuse

Here comes a bombshell: Motown legend Smokey Robinson, now 84, is under fire for some serious allegations. Four women - all former household helpers - claim the soul sensation sexually harassed, abused, and raped them for years, starting in 2007. His wife, Frances, is also implicated for fostering a hostile work environment.

The damning details are laid out in a lawsuit filed Tuesday in Los Angeles, painting a bleak picture of Robinson's private life. The accusers, shielded by anonymity due to fear of job loss and immigration issues, allege systematic abuse at Robinson's homes in San Fernando Valley and Las Vegas. They claim Robinson created scenarios to isolate them and force them into sexual acts despite their repeated protests.

The Accusations Unravel

The women share harrowing accounts, from repeated assaults to forced oral sex and rape without a condom. The allegations include sexual harassment, violence, false imprisonment, and gender-specific attacks.

  • Jane Doe 1 reports at least seven incidents between 2023 and 2024, detailing how Robinson lured her into a specific bedroom, locked the door, and abused her despite her resistance.
  • Jane Doe 2 describes 23 non-consensual sexual acts during her employment from 2014 to 2020. She was subjected to forced oral sex and repeated penetration without a condom.
  • Jane Doe 3 speaks of a recurring "ritual" that played out at least 20 times. Again, she was forced into sexual acts, sometimes in exchange for money she refused.
  • Jane Doe 4, who worked for the couple since 2006, claims to have been raped for the first time in 2007. Following more incidents from 2019, she finally quit in April 2024.

The lawsuit, obtained by Rolling Stone magazine, lays out the assaults in agonizing detail. Robinson allegedly never used a condom and intentionally humiliated the women. The accusers claim they remained silent due to fear of losing their jobs or facing immigration consequences, aggravated by Robinson’s fame and influential friends.

Frances Robinson, too, is heavily implicated. She is accused of fostering a hostile work environment, even settling with other affected women in the past.

Smokey Robinson, once the lead singer of Miracles and prolific songwriter, responsible for hits like "The Tracks Of My Tears" and "Tears Of A Clown," and later a successful solo artist and producer, now faces a dark cloud over his legacy.

The Hispanic accusers worked for the couple between 2006 and 2024. The lawsuit seeks at least $50 million in damages, with the accusers' attorney describing Robinson as a "serial and sick rapist." In response, Robinson's lawyer, Christopher Frost, denies the allegations, calling them false and an attempt at extortion. Frost indicates an intent to fight the lawsuit and seek dismissal, pointing out inconsistencies, questionable timelines, and questionable relationships among the accusers. No further evidence beyond the lawsuit filings and both parties' statements has been disclosed as of now.
