Allegations made against Caroline Bosbach are rejected by her
In the midst of the current NRW municipal election campaign, CDU Bundestag MP Caroline Bosbach has found herself embroiled in a controversy. The allegations against Bosbach involve a reported sum of 2,500 euros, but she vehemently denies accepting any such payment from a CDU party account.
According to Bosbach, the allegations are based on manipulated chat logs that were leaked to the press. The news portal "t-online" and the ARD magazine "Kontraste" reported these allegations. Bosbach published a video on Facebook and Instagram to deny the accusations.
The allegations, however, are not just about a monetary transfer. They also involve a payment of 90 euros for entry into the Mittelstands- und Wirtschaftsunion (MIT) in 2023, which was sometimes rounded up to 100 euros, and free catering.
Bosbach insists that the allegations are false and is currently examining whether she can take legal action against them. She has written a letter to the members of the CDU in the Rhine-Berg district, expressing her desire that the allegations not be the subject of conversation at public appearances.
The CDU Rhein-Berg district board has decided to hand over all documents to the Cologne public prosecutor's office for an independent examination. The MIT had not yet commented on the allegations against Bosbach.
It is important to note that as of now, no verified scandal involving CDU Bundestag MP Caroline Bosbach has been reported, and there are no known allegations, investigations, or legal actions against her in the current public domain. Bosbach, known from the RTL show "Let's Dance" and daughter of the former CDU interior politician Wolfgang Bosbach, reiterates that she has not enriched herself, and the CDU Rhein-Berg has not suffered any damage.
Bosbach also expressed her intention to refrain from attending any election campaign events until the allegations have been clarified. She hopes that the truth will be revealed soon, especially given the current political climate. The alleged purpose of the campaign against Bosbach, according to her, is to damage her credibility.
