Seventh Edition of Ride Across Portugal Set for May 2025
The 7th edition of the Ride Across Portugal® bicycle race will take place from May 11 to May 17, 2025. This six-stage event will traverse mainland Portugal from the northern region of Douro to the southern coast of Algarve, covering an approximate distance of 770 kilometers. The journey will primarily follow secondary roads or less-trafficked routes.
The race will commence in the Douro region, specifically Amamar, and conclude at Ermida da Senhora da Rocha in Lagoa, Algarve. It serves as a test of cyclists' physical endurance, but also an opportunity to explore the country's rich history and diversity, making for a demanding yet scenic race experience.
The final stage on May 17 will connect Monchique to Porches, with the finish line located at Ermida da Senhora da Rocha. Upon their arrival, the first athletes are expected to be welcomed around 11:30 AM at Senhora da Rocha, where a reception awaits to celebrate the participants' achievement.
Cyclists participating in this event will journey through the heart of Portugal, from the verdant vineyards of the Douro Valley to the sun-kissed beaches of the Algarve coast. This cycling challenge showcases the country's geographic and cultural variety, offering a unique racing experience.
