Alisha Lehmann's participation in the Euros this summer confirmed?
Get the lowdown on Alisha Lehmann's Euros prospects! This summer, the social media queen is eyeing a spot on Switzerland's home team squad.
Recently, though, Lehmann's international career has faced some hurdles. So, will the Juventus forward make it to the tournament? Let's break it down.
Alisha Lehmann: On the Bubble for Switzerland's Squad?
In May, it seemed like Lehmann would miss a third consecutive Switzerland squad for the Nations League. But fate had other plans, as she got a late call-up after Alena Bienz sustained an injury before games against France and Norway. Switzerland unfortunately lost both matches 4-0 and 1-0. Lehmann came off the bench for both games.
Reports suggest Lehmann's international struggles stem from inconsistent club-level game time. ADDITIONALLY, she's battled injuries this season. In our opinion, it seems she'll miss out on the final squad.
For Juventus, Lehmann was a Regular Starter
Juventus, champions of the Serie A and Italian Cup, gave Lehmann 16 league appearances in the 2024/25 season.
In addition to joining the latest squad, she was also part of Pia Sundhage's 30-player preliminary Euros squad revealed on June 6th. Seven players must be cut from that list, with one already dropped due to injury (Ramona Bachmann).
The final 23-player squad will be announced soon, with the tournament kicking off on July 2nd. Switzerland faces Norway in their opening game.
