In the wake of a grim Cybertruck mishap that landed him in an induced coma, top-basketball prospect Alijah Arenas has miraculously regained consciousness and is set to leave the hospital imminently, according to the co-host of his father's podcast, "Gil's Arena."
Arenas' impressive recovery, as reported by Josiah Johnson of the same podcast, indicates that he struck no major injuries in the single-vehicle accident. He's now "doing great" and expected to be discharged soon.
The incident occurred close to 5 a.m. PDT Thursday, as Arenas was on his way back from the gym. His Tesla Cybertruck veered off Corbin Avenue in Reseda, struck a fire hydrant and a tree, and ignited with Arenas trapped inside.

Alijah Arenas Miraculously Awake after Cybertruck Accident
Alijah Arenas, a highly-touted USC recruit and son of the ex-NBA player Gilbert Arenas, has astoundingly surfaced from a coma following a Cybertruck collision, his family shared.
The family thanked the "valorous individuals" who played a part in rescuing Arenas from the burning vehicle. One of them declared that he heard "frantic tapping on the car window, though the smoke was so dense that I couldn't see anything." Yet, spectators managed to extract him from the vehicle.
"Such acts of bravery, coupled with Alijah's fierce determination to live, can only be described as nothing short of astonishing," the family expressed in a statement issued on Friday.
Arenas was declared "stable" at the scene, according to LAPD officer Rosario Cervantes. Upon hospital admission, he was placed in an induced coma due to smoke inhalation.
Still intubated the day after, Arenas was able to open his eyes and manage communication through writing.
Chatsworth High coach Sam Harris additionally communicated to The Times that Arenas' condition was steadily improving each day.
Arenas, a top-10 prospect nationally and the jewel of USC's 2025 recruiting class, is the son of a professional basketball player Gilbert Arenas. Last month, Arenas led Chatsworth to the CIF state championship game. He departs the school as the City Section's all-time leading scorer, surpassing 3,000 career points.
As of yet, Arenas hasn't officially joined USC. He was forecasted to play a significant role for the Trojans next season as a freshman.
