Alice Robinson dominates first Giant Slalom run at Copper Mountain

Alice Robinson from New Zealand has taken the lead after the first run of the Giant Slalom at Copper Mountain. The Swiss team, however, faces an uphill battle, with their top skier trailing well behind the front-runners.

Robinson finished the first run with a commanding lead, leaving Sweden’s Sara Hector in second place, 0.29 seconds back. Austria’s Julia Scheib, who won the season opener in Sölden, sits in third, 1.55 seconds off the pace.

A Swiss podium finish now looks unlikely, with Rast 0.66 seconds behind Scheib in third. The second run will decide whether Scheib or Hector can challenge Robinson for the top spot. Gut-Behrami’s absence leaves a gap in the Swiss team as they push for better results.
