Alexandrov Ensemble returns to Nizhny Novgorod with My Homeland tribute tour

The Alexandrov Ensemble will bring its My Homeland programme to Nizhny Novgorod on 28 March. This performance marks a return to the city as part of a wider tour across Russia. The concert will blend patriotic military anthems with traditional Russian songs and dances.

The event also pays tribute to composer Anatoly Novikov, whose 130th birth anniversary will be celebrated in 2026. His song *My Homeland* will feature prominently in the programme.

The Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army will take the stage at the Nizhny Novgorod State Academic Philharmonic. Soloists, a choir, an orchestra, and a ballet company will all perform together. Well-known pieces like Sacred War, Smuglyanka, Kalinka, and Victory Day will form the core of the evening.

As a special nod to the local audience, the ensemble will include *Sormovo Lyric* by Boris Mokrousov. This choice reflects the group's tradition of honouring regional connections during its tours. Beyond the main concert, the ensemble has planned a separate performance at a military hospital in Nizhny Novgorod. This visit continues their practice of engaging with service members and veterans. The *My Homeland* programme has already toured major cities, including Moscow, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, and Yekaterinburg. However, details on public reactions in these locations remain unavailable for comparison with other recent concerts.

The Nizhny Novgorod performance will showcase the Alexandrov Ensemble's signature mix of military and folk traditions. The concert also highlights the group's ongoing commitment to commemorative events and community outreach. Tickets and further details can be obtained through the local philharmonic's official channels.
