Alexandria's Fall Events: Ghost Tours, Industry Outreach & Innovation Showcase

Alexandria, Virginia, is abuzz with events this fall. Ghost tours are back in Old Town, with Alexandria Colonial Tours, led by Manager Jimmy Meritt, offering chilling tales of the city's haunted history. Meanwhile, the city gears up for an industry outreach event and the 2025 Collegiate Inventors Competition.

Old Town Alexandria is once again alive with spooky stories as the season approaches. Alexandria Colonial Tours, led by Manager Jimmy Meritt, offers ghost tours that delve into the city's haunted past.

On October 22, from 1 to 3 p.m., an industry outreach event will take place at City Hall, Market Square, and Garage Renovation project. The event aims to promote inclusive contracting for Small, Women-owned, Minority-owned, Micro, and Service-Disabled Veteran-owned businesses.

Alexandria City Public Schools has received support from the Alexandria City Council for a 1% local sales tax increase. The funds will be used for school construction projects.

Alexandria will host the 2025 Collegiate Inventors Competition on October 16. Ten finalist teams from top universities will showcase their innovations.

The Alexandria City Council will also meet on October 16 to consider a grant application for flood mitigation projects and vote on board appointments, demonstrating the city's commitment to infrastructure and community development.
