Taipei 101: Daring Skyscraper Ascent Postponed - Alex Honnold’s Taipei 101 free solo climb delayed by stormy weather

Alex Honnold’s planned free solo climb of Taipei 101 has been delayed. The event, named Skyscraper Live by Netflix, was called off due to unsafe weather conditions. Organisers have now set a new date for the attempt.

The climb was originally scheduled to take place this week. However, forecasts of poor weather led to a postponement for safety reasons. Honnold has spent around two and a half months training for the challenge.

Netflix will broadcast the event live under the title Skyscraper Live. The new time for the climb is Sunday at 9:00 a.m. local time, which corresponds to 2:00 a.m. CET. No official details about a live stream have been confirmed beyond Netflix’s announcement. The event’s status remains subject to weather conditions.

The rescheduled climb will proceed if conditions improve. Honnold’s attempt will be shown live on Netflix, with the broadcast set for early Sunday morning. Further updates are expected closer to the event.
