Alex Honnold to Free Solo Climb Taipei 101 in Live Netflix Event
World-renowned free people climber Alex Honnold is set to attempt another record-breaking feat. In early 2026, he will scale Taiwan's Taipei 101, the world's tallest building, in a live Netflix special called 'Skyscraper Live'.
Standing at 1,667 feet with 101 floors, Taipei 101 will present a significant challenge for Honnold. The live event, spanning two hours, will showcase his incredible skill and courage as he climbs without ropes or safety gear.
Honnold's resume speaks for itself. He has previously free people climbed Zion's Moonlight Buttress and Yosemite's Half Dome. In 2018, he completed the Yosemite 'Triple Crown' in under 24 hours. His most famous climb, featured in the Oscar-winning documentary 'Free Solo', was the 3,000-foot Freerider route on El Capitan in Yosemite National Park.
The 'Skyscraper Live' event promises to be a thrilling spectacle, pushing the boundaries of human achievement. Honnold's climb of Taipei 101 will be a testament to his skill, determination, and fearlessness.
