Alert Issued for approaching severe weather with high winds
Storm Warning Issued for Berlin and Brandenburg
The German Weather Service (DWD) has issued a storm warning for Berlin and Brandenburg, advising residents to brace for high winds and potential storm gusts.
According to the DWD, on Wednesday, temperatures around 19 degrees are expected in the region, with conditions mostly dry. However, in exposed areas, wind gusts could reach up to 75 kilometers per hour, and there is a risk of falling branches and flying debris. In these areas, light objects could be blown around, and loose objects should be secured, and tents and covers should be fastened.
On Tuesday, the expected temperature in Berlin and Brandenburg ranges from 19 to 22 degrees. The north of Brandenburg will be cloudy with local rain, while Berlin and the south of Brandenburg will be mostly dry and may have sunny intervals. In exposed areas of Brandenburg, storm gusts could reach 85 kilometers per hour.
Meteorologist Lutz Beckebanze, who is noted for announcing a recent autumn storm event in Northern Germany, has announced this warning. The DWD warns that temperatures are expected to rise from Thursday, with temperatures expected to reach up to 23 degrees on Thursday and potentially 27 degrees on Friday.
Residents are advised to keep a close eye on weather updates and take necessary precautions to secure their property. For detailed weather reports, meteorologist Dominik Jung provides informative updates, but the official DWD meteorologists manage warnings. It is likely a team effort at DWD rather than a single named meteorologist publicly associated with these warnings.
More showers are expected in the evening of Tuesday in Brandenburg and Berlin, and storm gusts of up to 75 kilometers per hour are expected in the north and west of Brandenburg until evening. Residents are urged to stay safe and follow any instructions issued by local authorities.
