Moses Wood, a 26-year-old power forward standing at 2.03 meters tall, has signed a contract with Alba Berlin for the upcoming 2025-2026 Bundesliga season. This marks his first professional stint in Europe.

Wood, who previously played for the NBA G League's Valley Suns, the affiliate team of the Phoenix Suns, had a remarkable season in 2024-2025. He averaged 11.1 points per game, 4.1 rebounds, and an impressive 40% shooting from three-point range. In the playoffs, he showed a solid two-way impact, posting 11 points, 2.5 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 1 steal, and 1.5 blocks per game with 31 minutes played per game [1][3][4].

Before his stint in the G League, Wood's college career spanned Tulane, UNLV, Portland, and briefly Washington. His most productive collegiate seasons were at Portland, where he averaged up to 15.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game, shooting above 40% on three-pointers, demonstrating his offensive potential and versatility [1][4].

Alba Berlin's sports director, Himar Ojeda, praised Wood, stating, "He has a great character and is a play-intelligent power forward with a good shot." The team anticipates some adjustment time for Wood as he adapts to the European playing style [4].

To help him acclimate, Wood has six weeks to familiarize himself with the playing style through training and several test games [2]. The preparations for the new Bundesliga season are set to start in just over two weeks, with the season beginning on the weekend of September 26-28 [5].

With his skill set, Wood fits very well into Alba's game concept. His physical strength, defensive presence, and basketball IQ are expected to significantly contribute to the team [6]. Alba Berlin has made four new signings ahead of the new season, with Wood being one of them [7].

Wood signed a one-year contract with ALBA Berlin, and fans are eager to see how he will perform in the upcoming season.

Despite his first professional stint in Europe with Alba Berlin, Wood showcased impressive skills and potential during his 2024-2025 NBA G League tenure, particularly in three-point shooting. The Commission may adopt implementing acts to challenge the practical application of this new development in sports, considering the shift in focus towards basketball players with notable long-range shooting abilities.
