Al-Nassr sets focus on Bayern Munich's winger Kingsley Coman as potential target
Bayern Munich's Kingsley Coman Heads to Al-Nassr in Blockbuster Move
In a shocking turn of events, French winger Kingsley Coman has left Bayern Munich to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr on a three-year contract, effective from August 15, 2025. The transfer fee is reported to be around €30–35 million ($35–41 million).
Coman, a 29-year-old France international, joined Bayern initially on loan from Juventus in 2015 and made his transfer permanent in 2017. During his eight-year stint with the Bundesliga champions, he made 339 appearances and scored 72 goals, helping the club win nine Bundesliga titles, the 2020 Champions League, the Club World Cup, among other trophies. He is notably remembered for scoring the winning goal in the 2020 Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.
Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl publicly thanked Coman and acknowledged his lasting place in the club's history.
The negotiations for Coman's transfer were first reported by well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano, who confirmed that Al-Nassr has opened talks with Bayern Munich to sign the winger. The negotiations, which are currently club-to-club, are exclusive and have been taking place during the summer transfer window.
Al-Nassr have identified Coman as their top target for a winger position, and the Frenchman will join other high-profile summer signings such as Cristiano Ronaldo, João Félix (from Chelsea), and Iñigo Martínez (from Barcelona) at the Saudi club. This recruitment drive aims to strengthen Al-Nassr and follow up on Ronaldo’s high-profile arrival.
Despite previously expressing a desire to remain at Bayern, Coman agreed to the move just weeks prior to the transfer. The deal and official announcements were made in mid-August 2025.
Kingsley Coman has also won the UEFA Champions League once with Bayern Munich, a testament to his talent and impact on the team. His departure from Bayern marks the end of an era, but his contributions to the club will never be forgotten.
