Al-Hilal's triumphant comeback over Al-Duhail, spearheaded by Hernandez's decisive goal.

In the ongoing AFC Champions League Elite group stage of 2025, Al-Hilal, the home team, scored a crucial second goal to take a commanding lead in their match.

The goal was a result of a well-worked attack, with midfielder Milinkovic-Savic, Hamad Al-Yami, and eventual scorer Nunez combining brilliantly in the final third. Nunez, finding himself just outside the six-yard box, capitalised on the opportunity, scoring a goal that gave Zakaria, the opposing goalkeeper, no chance. The goal took a deflection on its way in, but the credit for the finish goes to Nunez.

However, the first half ended with the scores level. Yusuf Akcicek thought he had given Al-Hilal the lead, but the VAR ruled out the goal due to a handball by Marcos Leonardo in the build-up.

After the break, Al-Hilal continued to push forward, but the ball would not fall for them in the area. The second goal, scored by Hernandez from outside the area, came as a result of Al-Hilal leaving gaps at the back. The goal gave Al-Hilal the start they wanted in the competition.

Coach Djamel Belmadi will be pleased with his team's performance so far, as they look to secure a place in the next round of the AFC Champions League. The team will look to build on this result when they face their next opponent.
