Mumbai's Political Tussle: A Clash Over Power

Ajit Pawar's department allegedly under interference from Devendra Fadnavis, asserts Rohit Pawar.

Allies are just temporary conveniences, according to Rohit Pawar, NCP leader, following the appointment of former bureaucrat Praveen Pardeshi as Chief Economic Advisor (CEA) to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. This move, Pawar claims, is an intrusion into the Ajit Pawar-led finance department, causing a stir in Maharashtra's political landscape.

Taking to social media, Pawar asserted, "Fadnavis has scrutinized the decisions made by Shinde, his predecessor, in the last 2.5 years. Now, it's Ajit Pawar's turn."

The appointment of Pardeshi, a nature enthusiast and President of Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS), has stirred speculation about centralizing power. Pawar believes this could result in better outcomes in a democracy through decentralization and teamwork, suggesting a change in Fadnavis' working style might benefit Maharashtra.

Created with the status of a Minister of State, Pardeshi takes charge of preparing the Vision 2047 roadmap, submitting quarterly reports on state finances, formulating incentives for EVs, MSMEs, and green energy, and coordinating with NITI Aayog on strategic development initiatives. As the CEO of Maharashtra Institution of Transformation and Chairperson of Mumbai Heritage Conservation Committee, Pardeshi brings valuable experience to the role.

Pawar's criticism extends to the BJP, which he accuses of following a "use-and-throw" policy with its allies. He believes the BJP's allies don't recognize their own exploitation until it's too late. With no signs of reconciliation, this power struggle between political factions continues to unfold. Stay tuned for updates on this intriguing political saga in Maharashtra.

In the midst of Mumbai's political tussle, NCP leader Rohit Pawar criticizes the BJP for their "use-and-throw" policy with allies, indicating a power struggle that seems to be rooted in policy-and-legislation and general-news matters. The appointment of Praveen Pardeshi as Chief Economic Advisor (CEA) has sparked debate about centralization of power, with Pawar suggesting that a change in working style could benefit Maharashtra's democracy.
