Las Vegas Aces Star A'ja Wilson's Nike Shoe Debut and New Pink Hairstyle

The week couldn't get any bigger for Las Vegas Aces' standout player A'ja Wilson. Her very own Nike shoes, the A'One's, hit the shelves, and they were snatched up in under five minutes after going on sale. A new color design is slated for release next week.

Accordingly, at the Aces' media day, A'ja sported a striking pink hairstyle, as if matching the initial design of her A'One shoes. Last season, she donned a silver 'do to align with the team's colors.

Joining A'ja in the exclusive club of WNBA players boasting signature shoes are Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu, Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, and Jacy Sheldon. A'ja becomes the first Black WNBA player to secure a signature shoe since Candace Parker back in 2011.

The hype surrounding A'ja's shoe release is significant, especially after the Aces' heartbreaking failed attempt at a three-peat. Following their back-to-back championship wins in 2022 and 2023, the Aces were stopped in the WNBA Semifinals last season by the eventual champions, the Liberty.

With three MVP awards and six All-Star appearances under her belt, A'ja is more determined than ever. She also added a second Olympic gold medal to her trophy case in 2024.

Beyond her basketball achievements, A'ja has also been announced as the next WNBA star to become a Funko Pop! figure.

Interestingly, Sabrina Ionescu - another WNBA player with a Nike signature shoe line - is set to release new colorways for her Nike Sabrina 2 model before the 2025 WNBA season commences.

This past season, A'ja featured in 38 games, averaging over 34 minutes per game. Her statistics saw career-high averages for points (26.9 points), rebounds (11.9 rebounds), assists (2.3 assists), steals (1.8 steals), and blocks (2.6 blocks). Her steals and blocks statistics were also personal bests. She shot 51.8% from the field, 31.7% from beyond the arc, and 84.4% from the free-throw line.

Following their preseason opener, a 112-78 win against the Dallas Wings, Wilson racked up 19 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two blocked shots in 22 minutes. She was successful on 7-of-17 field goal attempts and 4-of-5 free-throws.

In their second preseason game, an 85-84 victory against the Phoenix Mercury, Wilson ended up with 14 points, six rebounds, three assists, one steal, and three blocked shots in 22 minutes. She made 4-of-12 field goal attempts and 6-of-8 free-throws.

The Aces will tip off the 2025 WNBA season at home against the Liberty on Saturday, May 17.
