Airline Rankings for 2025: ANA Places Fifth While JAL Secures Ninth Spot in World Airline Awards
Singapore Airlines and Qatar Airways took the top spots in the 2025 World's Best Airlines, with Singapore ranking second overall and Qatar Airways claiming the first position. But it was Japan's airlines that stole the show in several categories.
Japan Airlines (JAL) and All Nippon Airways (ANA) both made significant strides in the service-related categories. JAL, which dropped three places from sixth in the overall World's Best Airlines category compared to the previous year, ranked ninth in 2025. Despite the drop, JAL excelled in specific areas. The airline was second for the World's Best Airport Services 2025 and eighth for the World's Cleanest Airline 2025.
ANA, on the other hand, maintained its high standing, finishing fifth in the overall World's Best Airlines category. ANA's strong reputation for cleanliness, with nightly deep-cleaning routines and stringent hygienic protocols, contributed to its high ranking in cleanliness. The airline was second for the World's Cleanest Airline 2025 and first for the World's Best Airport Services 2025.
Korean Air and Turkish Airlines also made the top ten, with Korean Air ranking seventh overall and Turkish Airlines coming in sixth. Air France and Hainan Airlines did not receive specific category rankings, but they were included in the overall top ten, with Air France in eighth place and Hainan Airlines in tenth.
