Air Show at Joint Base Andrews set for DC comeback in 2025
2025 Joint Base Andrews Air Show: A Spectacular Weekend in Landover, Maryland
Get ready for an exciting aviation extravaganza! The 2025 Joint Base Andrews Air Show is set to take place on September 13th and 14th at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland.
This free, two-day event promises to celebrate the evolution of airpower and showcase the current U.S. military aviation capabilities. The show will feature military and civilian aerial demonstrations, static displays, and exhibits for families.
One of the highlights of the air show will be the performance of the renowned U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. Six Thunderbird aircraft will fly in formation, with a seventh capturing photos as they soar over the National Mall on Friday at approximately 8:15 a.m.
The Thunderbirds will not be the only aerial performers. The U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute team, the U.S. Naval Academy Parachute Team, the F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team, and the C-17 Demo Team are also scheduled to perform. A C-17 will join the formation around 8:45 a.m.
In addition to the aerial performances, the air show will include STEAM exhibits, military band performances, and honor guard presentations.
To ensure a smooth experience for all attendees, it's important to note that parking at Joint Base Andrews is restricted to DoD cardholders. However, free public parking will be available at Northwest Stadium on both Saturday and Sunday. Buses will run from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day, with the last return bus departing Joint Base Andrews at 5 p.m. Bus services from Northwest Stadium to Joint Base Andrews will be provided for free on both days.
Please be aware that due to air show performances, the Suitland Parkway will be temporarily closed at various times. The road will be closed from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11, from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, and from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 14.
