Subroto Cup Collaborates with Indian Tigers and Tigresses Scouting Program
The Subroto Cup, a prestigious football tournament hosted by the Subroto Mukerjee Sports Education Society under the aegis of the Air Force Sports Control Board, has announced a new collaboration with the Indian Tigers and Tigresses scouting program. This partnership aims to identify and nurture the next generation of Indian football stars.
The collaboration seeks to bridge the gap between grassroots and elite football by using talent scouts to discover promising players, increasing television coverage to showcase talent widely, and receiving strong support from the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the Sports Authority of India (SAI), and the government to create the right ecosystem. This partnership also provides opportunities for talent to perform and be recognized at the national level.
Air Marshal S Shivkumar, the Chief Guest at a press event announcing the collaboration, expressed optimism about the initiative. Indian footballer Dalima Chhibber, the Guest of Honour at the event, also showed her support for the collaboration.
The Subroto Cup International Football Tournament will kick off its 64th Edition with 106 teams. The Junior Girls (Under 17) category will commence in New Delhi NCR on August 19, followed by the Sub-Junior Boys (Under 15) category in Bengaluru from September 2nd. The final phase, the Junior Boys (Under 17) category, will start in New Delhi NCR on September 16th. The tournament will feature three categories: Junior Boys and Girls and Sub-Junior Boys.
This tournament, conceived by Air Marshal Subroto Mukerjee to promote sport at the grassroots level, will be hosted across New Delhi NCR and Bengaluru from August 19 to September 25. The collaboration is a significant step in providing a platform for young talent to showcase their skills and create structured opportunities to rise to elite competition through a combined effort of scouting, visibility, and institutional backing.
