The Indian Air Force (IAF) has announced the updated eligibility criteria and selection process for the Agniveer Vayu recruitment in 2025. The application window for this opportunity opened on July 11, 2025, and the deadline has been extended to August 4, 2025.
Interested candidates can apply through the official IAF website. The selection process consists of four stages: a written examination, physical fitness test, document verification, and a medical examination.
The first stage is a written exam, designed to test the candidates' knowledge and understanding of various subjects. The second stage is the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which includes a 1.6-kilometre run. Male candidates must complete this run in 7 minutes, while female candidates have 8 minutes to complete the same distance.
The third stage is document verification, where the candidates' documents are scrutinised to ensure they meet the eligibility criteria. The final stage is a Medical Test, which ensures the candidates are physically and medically fit to serve.
The updated eligibility criteria require candidates to be unmarried males or females aged between 17.5 and 21 years (born between July 2, 2005, and January 2, 2009). Educational qualifications include either 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, and English with a 50% aggregate and English marks, a three-year engineering diploma in relevant fields, or 10+2 in any stream with the same minimum marks. Female candidates must not get pregnant, and all candidates must remain unmarried during the 4-year service period.
The physical standards include a minimum height of 152 cm for both genders, specific chest measurements for males, vision standards with no LASIK correction allowed, and normal hearing.
