Aiming for a Fortified Artesia: My Plans and Future Strategies in 2025.

In a significant development for the City of Artesia, Mayor Ali Sajjad Taj announced his candidacy for the California State Assembly District 67 in the 2026 election. The announcement was made on September 13th, 2024, at the Albert O. Little Community Center in Artesia.

Mayor Taj, who is serving a third term as Mayor, expressed his gratitude to the residents and constituents of Artesia for their continued support. He also thanked a diverse coalition of respected leaders across the district for their endorsements, which have contributed to his campaign gaining significant momentum.

In his speech, Mayor Taj emphasised his commitment to maintaining an open-door policy and working collaboratively with the City Council and staff. He also highlighted his priorities for the City of Artesia, including driving economic development and revenue generation, investing in the city's workforce, and improving public safety.

In addition to his role as Mayor, Ali Sajjad Taj holds several positions on the Eco-Rapid Transit Board. He was elected as Chair of the Board and also serves as Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and Internal Auditor. The Eco-Rapid Transit Board is responsible for the West Santa Ana Branch lite rail line, which will start and terminate in Artesia.

The Artesia Town Center project is another significant initiative that Mayor Taj mentioned. This project is expected to generate significant local revenue and create job opportunities for residents. The city remains committed to improving infrastructure, including roads and public spaces, to support the growth and development of the community.
