Former Biles Coach Leaves Stuttgart Gymnastics Support Point - Aimee Boorman exits German Gymnastics Federation amid ongoing turmoil

Aimee Boorman, the former coach of Olympic champion Simone Biles, has left her position at the German Gymnastics Federation (DTB) earlier than planned. Her exit follows a difficult year marked by ongoing abuse allegations and upheaval within the Stuttgart training centre.

Boorman took charge at the DTB in 2024, joining amid serious misconduct claims at the Stuttgart Artistic Gymnastics Forum. The federation itself acknowledged that she began her role under challenging conditions, with the fallout from the scandal still unfolding.

Her contract was originally set to run until December 2028, with an extension agreed in August 2025. However, both sides decided to part ways sooner. During her time, she coached a small group of gymnasts, including Helen Kevric, one of Germany's top prospects. Kevric suffered a major knee injury at the 2025 European Championships in Leipzig, though details about her recovery remain unclear. Before the injury, Kevric had publicly backed the coaches dismissed by the Swabian Gymnastics Federation (STB) over the abuse allegations. The DTB confirmed that Boorman's departure was a mutual decision after a demanding period in the role.

Boorman's exit leaves the DTB searching for new leadership in a programme still grappling with the effects of past controversies. Her early departure comes as the federation continues to address the wider challenges facing German gymnastics.
