The Tragic Attack on the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation: Eight Aid Workers Lost

US Aid Organization GHF Suffers Deadly Attack: Eight Aides Perish in Hamas Assault - Aid Workers Slain: Eight Employees of American NGO GHF Victims in Hamas Assault

In the heart of the ongoing conflict, eight dedicated individuals met an untimely end in a brutal Hamas attack. These individuals were members of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), an aid organization that has been providing essential supplies to Gaza's population since May 2025.

Alarmingly, there are reports of the possibility that some of the team members might have been taken hostage, according to statements made by the organization's spokesperson. Initially, it was reported that five workers had been killed in the attack. However, the devastating incident occurred when a group of GHF workers was headed towards an aid distribution center in Khan Yunis, south of Gaza, around 22:00 local time. Their bus was viciously attacked by Hamas.

In the strongest terms possible, the foundation condemned this heinous and deliberate attack. They described the deceased victims as humanitarian helpers, who risked their lives daily to aid others. All the passengers on the bus were identified as Palestinian aid workers.

Following the attack, the foundation decided to close their distribution centers on Thursday due to security concerns. However, they emphasized the importance of continuing to deliver food to the population of Gaza, who rely heavily on these aid supplies.

The Israeli Foreign Minister, Gideon Saar, shared his sentiments on Twitter, labeling the attack as "the cowardly murderers of Hamas" and claiming that the group uses the suffering in Gaza as a weapon. Hamas, unfortunately, did not respond to the allegations made by the GHF.

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation began its operations in the Gaza Strip on May 26, 2025, and opened four distribution centers in the south and center of the Palestinian territory. This followed a three-month blockade of aid deliveries to the Palestinian territory by Israel. The foundation has so far distributed several million food packages to the needy population.

However, the foundation has been a subject of controversy, with major aid organizations and the UN refusing to cooperate with them due to allegations of aligning with the plans of the Israeli army. Reverend Johnnie Moore chairs the foundation and is an evangelical Christian leader and former adviser to President Donald Trump on interfaith issues.

The violence at the distribution centers has been ongoing, with numerous deadly incidents occurring. Several Palestinians have been killed and injured by gunfire while seeking aid, with Israeli forces stating they fired "warning shots" to disperse the crowds. Al-Awda Hospital received ten dead and around 200 injured in an incident where Israeli drones dropped bombs on gatherings of civilians near an aid distribution center.

International pressure is mounting on Israel to allow more aid into the region following two years of war in the Gaza Strip. The conflict began with a large-scale attack by Hamas and its affiliated fighters on Israel on October 7, 2023, resulting in over 1200 deaths, as reported by Israeli authorities. Since then, the Israeli army has been conducting a massive military operation in the Gaza Strip against Hamas.

In light of the continuing conflict, the unspeakable act of violence against the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) has intensified political discussions and raised concerns about war-and-conflicts in the region. Despite the controversy surrounding the foundation, its mission to deliver essential supplies to Gaza's population remains significant in the face of ongoing crime-and-justice issues, such as deadly violence at aid distribution centers.
