The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has continued its humanitarian efforts in the Gaza Strip with the dispatch of the Khalifa aid ship, carrying 7,166 tonnes of essential supplies. This shipment is part of the UAE's ongoing humanitarian support for the Palestinian people, and it reaffirms the country's enduring humanitarian stance.

The Khalifa aid ship, which reached Al Arish Port in Egypt on August 5, was received by a delegation of humanitarian and charitable organization representatives, Ahmed Sari Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), and Egyptian officials. The shipment comprises 4,372 tonnes of food, 1,433 tonnes of shelter supplies, 860 tonnes of medical materials, and 501 tonnes of health items, all destined for the Gaza Strip.

This aid shipment comes amid escalating humanitarian challenges in the Gaza Strip. The UAE's support is intended to reduce the impact of these crises and sustain the region's healthcare system. The aid shipment is not explicitly linked to "Operation Chivalrous Knight 3" in this paragraph, but it is part of the same ongoing humanitarian support.

Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, launched in December 2023, is a significant humanitarian aid initiative by the UAE. The operation has provided over 1,200 tonnes of medical supplies and supported Gaza’s hospitals, including running an integrated Emirati field hospital inside Gaza that has treated more than 51,000 cases by April 2025, including critical injuries and complex surgeries. The UAE’s efforts include deploying medical teams and volunteers on the ground in Gaza, operating a floating hospital in Egypt’s Al Arish city to serve critical cases, transferring severely ill individuals to UAE hospitals for treatment, providing prosthetics for injured individuals undergoing rehabilitation, and conducting multiple aerial humanitarian airdrops — jointly with Jordan — delivering essential medical supplies and food.

The overall aid dispatched to the Gaza Strip as a result of "Operation Chivalrous Knight 3" now exceeds 80,000 tonnes. This extensive support represents the UAE’s sustained, large-scale humanitarian and medical support to the Gaza Strip, combining on-the-ground medical infrastructure, international medical transfers, aerial airdrops of aid, and political advocacy for the Palestinian cause. The UAE's efforts aim to sustain the healthcare system amidst ongoing conflict and crisis in the region.
