Aid supplies dropped by the United Arab Emirates in their 60th air delivery reach Gaza during the ongoing crisis

In a renewed commitment to humanitarian principles, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has resumed its 'Operation Birds of Goodness' aid mission to the Gaza Strip. This mission, part of a larger humanitarian initiative called "Operation Chivalrous Knight 3," aims to deliver critical food, medical supplies, water, and other relief materials to the region.

Today marks the 60th airdrop of humanitarian aid as part of this operation. The UAE delivered 22 medical aid trucks containing medicines and medical supplies, adding to the total aid exceeding 3,807 tonnes. These airdrops are designed to reach areas inaccessible by land due to current field conditions, providing essential relief to those in need.

The operation is being conducted in cooperation with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, France, Germany, and Italy. The joint efforts have been instrumental in delivering aid to northern Gaza areas such as Jabalia and Beit Lahia. In addition to the airdrops, local efforts include the operation of 21 mobile bakeries and 50 charitable kitchens, feeding displaced and vulnerable families daily.

The UAE's diplomatic and logistical efforts have been central to maintaining these critical aid deliveries, despite ongoing security challenges. The recent aid missions are a response to warnings of a developing famine in Gaza, with malnutrition rates soaring due to prolonged conflict and blockades that have severely hampered humanitarian access.

This multinational approach underscores collective international humanitarian commitments to alleviate Palestinian suffering amid restricted access and rising malnutrition concerns. The operation, which initially launched on February 29, 2024, has been suspended and resumed several times due to escalating conflict.

Operation Birds of Goodness is a consortium-led humanitarian initiative, providing continuous life-saving aid to the Gaza Strip through airdrops and ground convoys since early 2024. The UAE's humanitarian efforts continue to support the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, demonstrating the country's unwavering commitment to humanitarian principles and standing by brotherly nations in times of crisis.
