Aid is dropped from the sky by the United Arab Emirates for the 70th time in the Gaza Strip.
In a significant humanitarian effort, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has successfully completed its 77th airdrop of essential supplies to the Gaza Strip as part of Operation Birds of Goodness. This operation is an integral component of Operation Gallant Knight 3 (also known as Chivalrous Knight 3), a broader humanitarian aid mission.
The latest drop, the 70th, includes vital food supplies aimed at alleviating the hardships faced by the residents of the Gaza Strip amid challenging humanitarian conditions. The UAE, through these aid drops, is bolstering the resilience of the people in the region and promoting a humanitarian giving approach to ease the suffering of those affected by crises.
The operation, which has been ongoing since its inception, has delivered over 4,028 tonnes of essential food supplies and humanitarian aid to Palestinian communities in the Gaza Strip. The food parcels, prepared with the support of UAE-based charitable institutions and entities, are designed to sustain families for a week, providing much-needed relief to those isolated by conflict and restricted access in northern Gaza.
The UAE's humanitarian operations in Gaza extend beyond aerial delivery. On the ground, the UAE continues to deliver aid via land convoys through border crossings, with over 500 tonnes of food aid transported by trucks during recent operations.
Operation Gallant Knight 3 and Birds of Goodness aim to ensure sustained delivery of humanitarian relief through air, land, and sea routes, thereby mitigating hunger and suffering resulting from the conflict and blockade conditions. The operation involves cooperation with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and multiple international partners, including Germany, France, the Netherlands, Singapore, Indonesia, Italy, and Belgium.
The UAE's role in international relief work is highlighted through these initiatives, reinforcing its commitment to supporting the Palestinian people. The total amount of aid delivered by air under Operation Birds of Goodness now exceeds 3,940 tonnes.
This latest aid drop is a testament to the UAE's unwavering dedication to humanitarian causes and its commitment to alleviating suffering in crisis areas. The UAE continues to mobilise regional and international efforts for humanitarian aid, demonstrating its steadfast support for the people of the Gaza Strip.
