Agudo critiques the Castilla-La Mancha Cortes as the "grand political estate of the PSOE of Page," publicly accusing Bellido of resembling Armengol.
In an unprecedented move, Carolina Agudo, the parliamentary spokeswoman and general secretary of the Popular Party of Castilla-La Mancha, has accused the ruling PSOE of limiting the political action of groups in the Regional Parliament.
Agudo's allegations include depriving groups of the use of installations, controlling who can give press conferences, and breaking agreements in the convening of weekly tables and commissions for ministers to appear. She has also denounced the unilateral and secret reform of the Parliament's regulations by the PSOE to prevent debates on issues important to the people of Castilla-La Mancha but that bother the President of the Parliament, Pablo Bellido.
Agudo compared Bellido's actions to those of the President of the Congress, Meritxell Batet. She considers the contempt of Bellido towards the parliamentary groups to be intolerable and has emphasised the lack of time spent by Bellido in the Parliament, with him only spending the time it takes to vote on initiatives.
The meeting of the Board of Spokespeople, originally scheduled for Monday, was convened today, "attending to the personal agenda of the President of the Parliament". Agudo stated that something very serious is happening in the Parliament and has requested respect "for the work and the labor of the parliamentary groups and the legislative power of this land".
In response to these allegations, Agudo has announced that if Bellido is bothered by the Parliament, they will strengthen their work to bring all and each of the claims that their people transmit to them. She has also stated that if the President of the Parliament, Pablo Bellido, wants to silence the voice of the people of Castilla-La Mancha, from the Popular Party, they will now bring all and each of the claims with more force.
The Parliament, according to Agudo, has been turned into "the great PSOE's courtyard of Page". Agudo has denounced that the institutional press room is limited, who can give press conferences is controlled, and media have been reprimanded for interviewing parliamentarians. She has also recalled that the PSOE has prohibited issues of interest to the people from being brought to the plenary sessions while they are addressed in the media.
This controversy comes at a time when the Regional Parliament is expected to face critical decisions affecting the lives of the people of Castilla-La Mancha. The opposition parties have called for transparency and respect for the legislative process, urging the PSOE to reconsider its approach and uphold the principles of democracy.
