High-tech for the field - Agritechnica starts in Hannover - Agritechnica 2025 Unveils AI-Powered Farming Tech at 40th Anniversary
Agritechnica, the world's largest agricultural machinery trade fair, kicks off this Sunday in Hanover. This year marks its 40th anniversary, with a focus on 'Touch Smart Efficiency'. Over 2,800 exhibitors from 52 countries will showcase the latest farming technologies, including electric tractors and AI-based multisensor systems. The fair is expected to attract nearly 430,000 visitors.
Agritechnica began in 1985 and has been held biennially in Hanover since 1995. This year's event will highlight new technologies such as drones, sensors, and AI algorithms. The German Federal Office for Agriculture and Food (BLE) will present findings from around 20 research projects, including an electric tractor and an AI-based multisensor system for crop management.
The fair is organized by the DLG and is fully booked, with all 23 exhibition halls occupied. Lothar Hövelmann, managing director of DLG, stated that agriculture is under immense pressure, and Agritechnica 2025 provides solutions for sustainable productivity growth. German Federal Agriculture Minister Alois Rainer and Lower Saxony's Agriculture Minister Miriam Staudte will join the opening tour on Monday. Bundeskanzler Friedrich Merz (CDU) and the niedersächsische Ministerpräsident Stephan Weil (SPD) will also participate on the opening day.
Agritechnica 2025 is set to be a significant event, showcasing the latest innovations in agricultural technology. With a record number of visitors expected, the fair promises to be an essential platform for discussing and demonstrating solutions for sustainable farming.
