Agrees European Parliament and Council on a unified stance on the issue of the 'far-right lacking representation'

Frequent Anti-human rights rhetoric cannot be overlooked, argues Verena Austermann, head of DJK Rheinkraft. Almost all city council parties are united under her leadership to counteract the far-right, leveraging the Neuss Integration Run as a platform to demonstrate against racism and hate speech.

Agrees European Parliament and Council on a unified stance on the issue of the 'far-right lacking representation'

In the heart of Germany, the city of Neuss is gearing up for an event that combines sport and politics in a powerful statement against right-wing populism. The Integration Run, an initiative of the "Not One Millimeter to the Right" movement led by Sven Austermann, aims to promote inclusion, diversity, and solidarity.

Background:

The Integration Run in Neuss is a response to the rising tide of right-wing populism not just in Germany, but across Europe. This movement uses athletic activities, such as running, to publicly demonstrate a firm stance rejecting any political shift or compromise toward the right-wing populist spectrum. The phrase "Not One Millimeter to the Right" (Keinen Millimeter nach rechts) symbolizes a zero-tolerance policy against letting right-wing extremist ideas or politics gain ground.

Significance:

The Integration Run serves a dual purpose. It fosters community cohesion and engagement while amplifying a political message that supports democratic values and resists the normalization of right-wing extremism. Participants from all backgrounds are invited to join, sending a clear message of unity and rejection of exclusionary and nationalist ideologies promoted by right-wing populist groups.

Event Details:

The Integration Run and Integration Walk, both over five kilometers, will start at 4 pm on September 23rd at Ludwig-Wolker-Anlage on Jean-Pullen-Weg 1. A joint celebration will take place from 5 pm.

For the younger participants, there are several events planned. The student races for children born between 2008 and 2015 will take place at 2 pm and 2:20 pm. Toddler races for children born between 2016 and 2018 will take place at 2:40 pm and 3 pm. A parent-child run for children born in 2019 and younger will also be held.

Registrations for the runs will be accepted until September 19th, 6 pm, at www.neuss-integrationslauf.de. Late registrations, with an additional 2 Euro on the entry fee, will be accepted on September 23rd from 13:00. The cash desk for late registrations will be located at the event.

The children's program, including a bouncy castle, bull riding, DJ, and stage program, will be available from 1 pm.

This approach exemplifies how grassroots movements use sportive events as platforms for political awareness and social inclusion. By participating in the Integration Run, you can join this powerful movement and help promote a more inclusive and diverse society.
