Toys manufacturer Haba, based in Bad Rodach, Upper Franconia (part of the Coburg district), aims to finalize their restructuring concept agreement with the works council in the coming weeks. According to Mario Wilhelm, Managing Director of the Haba Family Group, this agreement might be reached by December's start.

The company, with over 1600 employees, filed for insolvency under self-administration in mid-September. Haba already announced the closure of their Jako-o clothing division earlier in August. The anticipated reduction in workforce to around 1000 employees is currently underway. Potential buyers are expressing interest in Haba's Eisleben site, suggesting hope for its future independence.

As a family-owned company renowned for creating high-quality wooden toys, Haba is a substantial presence in the European toy market. Their product range extends beyond marble runs and construction sets, catering to children's creativity and spatial abilities. For instance, the Constructor Grundbaukasten is a 300-piece wooden construction set intended for kids aged 3 and above.

Haba is currently negotiating their restructuring concept with the works council, and an agreement is in sight. While the company faces financial challenges, the interest in their Eisleben site from potential buyers remains a positive sign for its future.
