Agatha Christie's iconic play, "The Mousetrap," is resting in the cold remnants of the Old Columbian establishment.

Agatha Christie's play, "The Mousetrap (La Souricière)," directed by the talented Lilo Baur, graces the stage at the Théâtre du Vieux-Colombier in the heart of Paris. This brilliant move brings the crime-solving queen's literary realm into Molière's hallowed ground.

The Comédie-Française, a troop versed in various theatrical styles, takes on Christie's masterpiece. Actors slip into the roles of the victim, the numerous suspects, and the enigmatic murderer, all while donning high-class English attire. Navigating the dry humor woven within this theatrical whodunit requires a fine tuning of rhythms and tones to hit just the right pace.

Snowflakes dance against the tall windows of the cozy inn, while inside, a pair of innkeepers warm their hands by the fireplace in the dimly lit, wooden-paneled drawing room. As they await their guests, the radio broadcasts a chilling news bulletin: a body has been discovered in London. Suspect number one? Each gentleman in the room, dressed head to toe in a hat, black coat, and white scarf. Just like our suspect, eh? This Mousetrap was designed to mislead and confuse from the get-go.
