VfL Bochum's Captain Losilla Urges More Grit in Relegation Struggle

Veteran midfielder Anthony Losilla isn't satisfied with just one victory in the Bundesliga this season and the lack of consistent determination. "We're working on it, because we need three points soon to pull ourselves out of this predicament," Losilla stated after VfL's goalless draw at newly-promoted 1. FC Heidenheim.

Losing points remains a frustrating issue for Bochum, as they've drawn seven times out of twelve matches. Losilla, however, remains optimistic, crediting the team's ability to secure a point away from home against a tough rival and not concede a goal.

Defender Keven Schlotterbeck shared the team's disappointment over the draw, saying, "We came here aiming for a win, but the point isn't enough." Schlotterbeck collected his fourth yellow card of the season, which results in an upcoming suspension, but he vows to remain committed to his playstyle.

Assembling three points remains crucial for Bochum, and they aim to take advantage of two home games ahead of the Christmas break against VfL Wolfsburg and 1. FC Union Berlin. "A home win would help us out, and we'll get the chance against Wolfsburg," Losilla said. VfL's 3-point victory this season came at the expense of newly promoted SV Darmstadt 98 (2-1).

Losilla emphasized the need for more aggression from VfL Bochum, as they prepare to face VfL Wolfsburg—a direct rival in the relegation battle. Even though Heidenheim itself is a formidable team in the Bundesliga, VfL Bochum has managed to challenge their position in the league's relegation battle.
