Prisoner on the Loose: Details Emerge After Mannheim Escape
Following the daring prison break of a Mannheim inmate during a medical visit in Ludwigshafen, additional information has come to light. The man managed to escape from the clinic's premises amidst a clinic visit, with no trace of him by Saturday. The missing individual was accompanied by two staff members to an orthodontist appointment, as announced by the Stuttgart Ministry of Justice on Saturday.
According to the Ministry's statement, the 25-year-old prisoner was handcuffed and shackled to a staff member upon returning from his dental treatment. However, in a surprising turn of events, the guard's handcuffs were released in the open door of the transport vehicle – offering the opportunity for the inmate to flee.
A colleague following close behind attempted to recover the escaping prisoner, who was still handcuffed, but was momentarily halted by a scooter rider armed with a weapon.
