Carry1st Africa Cup 2025: Africa's Chance to Compete on the Global Stage

The Carry1st Africa Cup 2025 is set to be the premier Call of Duty®: Mobile (CODM) tournament in Africa, offering a chance for teams from across the continent to compete for a share of a $15,000 prize pool and a coveted slot in the global finals, where a million-dollar prize awaits the winner.

Competing Regions and Qualification

The tournament will feature teams from seven African regions: Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, North Africa (Egypt & Morocco), Kenya, Uganda, and Francophone West Africa (Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Senegal). To secure a spot in the grand finals, teams must first compete in their respective regional qualifiers, with the top teams progressing to the final event.

Grand Finals and Global Representation

The grand finals of the Carry1st Africa Cup will take place in Lagos, Nigeria, on August 30–31, 2025. The winning team will earn the right to represent Africa at the CODM World Championship 2025.

Inclusivity and Wider Participation

Carry1st, an Africa-leading games publisher, is committed to inclusivity, opening a Wildcard Slot for countries like Mauritius and Tunisia to join the tournament. Over 200 teams and 1,000+ players are expected to participate in the tournament. Carry1st will also cover travel costs for teams that qualify for the LAN Grand Final in Lagos.

A Major Moment for African Esports

Jeffrey Gullett, Co-Head of Call of Duty: Mobile at Activision, has noted that the Carry1st Africa Cup is a significant moment for African esports. Guillaume Noé, VP of Growth at Carry1st, stated that gamers are competing for a chance to play against the world's best.

Registration for the Carry1st Africa Cup opens on May 3 on the tournament's website. The tournament runs from May to July, with regional qualifiers held every weekend. The regional qualifiers will conclude before August, with the grand finals taking place on August 30–31, 2025. This year's tournament is officially recognized by Activision as a qualifier for the World Championship 2025.
