African Player of the Year contenders: Liverpool's Keita, Mane, and Salah get nominated for the Yearly honor.

Liverpool's dynamic trio of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Naby Keita find themselves in a fierce competition for the 2018 African Player of the Year award.

Mohamed Salah, who won the accolade in 2017, is once again nominated for the prestigious award. His team-mates Mane and Keita also made the 34-name shortlist, making the race at Anfield particularly intense.

Salah, who represented Egypt in the 2018 World Cup in Russia, had previously led the team to the Africa Cup of Nations final in 2017. His impressive performances for both club and country have earned him a place among the frontrunners for the award.

Mane, a Senegalese international, is also a strong contender. He is a team-mate of Salah and Keita at Liverpool and has been instrumental in their successful season so far. His skill and determination on the pitch have not gone unnoticed, with his name being added to the shortlist.

Keita, who moved to Liverpool from RB Leipzig in the last transfer window, has quickly become a key player for the Reds. His energetic performances in midfield have helped Liverpool climb up the Premier League table, and his nomination for the award is a testament to his talent.

The nominees for the 2018 CAF African Player of the Year award who had not previously won this award include players such as Salah, Mane, and Keita. Other notable names on the shortlist include Riyad Mahrez, Alex Iwobi, Yacine Brahimi, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who won the award in 2015.

The competition promises to be tight, with all three Liverpool nominees, Salah, Keita, and Mane, having the potential to take the title. The winner will be announced in December, and football fans across the continent will be eagerly awaiting the result.
