Africa Witnesses Debut of First E-Sports Invitational for Women's Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Led by Carry1st

The gaming landscape in Africa is about to witness a significant shift with the launch of the Carry1st Africa Cup: Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women's Invitational (MWI), an all-female tournament organised by MOONTON Games and Carry1st. This event marks a major step towards promoting inclusivity in African esports.

The tournament is divided into two online qualifiers - one for Egypt and one for the rest of Africa. The online qualifiers for the Rest of Africa will take place from April 4 to 6, covering countries like South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and more. Meanwhile, online qualifiers for Egypt-based teams will take place from April 10 to 12. Each qualifier will host 32 teams in a double-elimination playoff format.

Ray Ng, Head of Esports Ecosystem at Moonton Games, expressed pride in helping talented female players make their mark and highlighted the commitment to inclusivity in competitive gaming. Lucy Hoffman, Co-founder & COO of Carry1st, stated that the tournament aims to provide a platform for Africa's top female Mobile Legends: Bang Bang players.

The winners from each qualifier will face off in a grand final at Insomnia Egypt, where the champions will earn their place at the Esports World Cup. Last year's Esports World Cup MLBB Women's Invitational peaked at over 250,000 viewers, demonstrating the global popularity of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports. The winners of the Carry1st Africa Cup: MWI will secure a spot at the Esports World Cup in Saudi Arabia later this year.

For teams interested in registering, it is advisable to monitor Carry1st’s official platforms or announcements for registration links and deadlines, as they typically handle signups and event updates. Registration for the Carry1st Africa Cup: MWI opens on March 26 at cup.carry1st.com and closes on April 2.

The exact date and location of the women's invitational tournament are yet to be announced. Keep an eye on Carry1st’s official website, social media, or contact the organisers directly for more information. This initiative provides a dedicated platform for women to compete at the highest level and gain international recognition, despite underrepresentation of female esports players on the global stage.

The Carry1st Africa Cup: MWI is a significant step in solidifying Africa's place in the international Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports arena.

The Carry1st Africa Cup: MWI is not limited to sports traditionally played on fields, but instead focuses on Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, a popular esports game. This event aims to provide Africa's top female Mobile Legends: Bang Bang players with a platform to compete at the highest level, earning them international recognition and a potential spot at the Esports World Cup.
