The Mayor of Mülheim, Marc Buchholz, emphasized an optimistic outlook for the future of the AERO-Club Mülheim an der Ruhr. He highlighted the club's significant youth group, a result of its close cooperation with Heißen Gymnasium since 2012. The continued existence of Essen/Mülheim Airport beyond the year 2034 was also secured, thanks to the efforts of Thomas Kufen, Essen's Mayor.

The AERO-Club Mülheim an der Ruhr, originally named 'Mülheim Duisburger Flugsportverein' when it was founded in 1925, has come a long way. Today, the club operates three divisions: motorized flight, touring motor gliding, and gliding. Over the years, the club has made various achievements, including the approval for motorized flight training in 2001.

The celebration was a testament to the club's resilience, particularly after World War II when a complete restart was necessary. Despite the challenges, the club has thrived and continues to contribute positively to the aviation community.

Stefan Klett, President of the North Rhine-Westphalia Sports Association, was among the attendees, recognising the club's significant role in the state. The Mayor of Essen, Thomas Kufen, also emphasized the optimistic future of the AERO-Club Mülheim an der Ruhr, securing the continued existence of Essen/Mülheim Airport beyond 2034.

The Mayor of Mülheim, Marc Buchholz, in his greeting at the celebration, emphasized the optimistic outlook for the AERO-Club Mülheim an der Ruhr, expressing confidence in the club's continued growth and success. The celebration was a fitting tribute to the club's past achievements and a promise of a bright future.
