Advocates for our group endorse legislation that solidifies President Trump's shield for female athletics as legal statute
The Defend Girls Athletics Act, a bill aimed at preserving fairness and protecting the nation's young women, has gained significant support in Congress. The legislation, officially named H.R. 4363, is introduced by Congressman Andy Barr, representing the 6th Congressional District of Kentucky.
The Defend Girls Athletics Act seeks to prevent ideologically driven policies from compromising the integrity of women's sports. It aims to uphold the hard-won protections of Title IX, ensuring that federal education funding is conditioned on compliance with the Act to ensure accountability.
The bill is applauded by advocates for fairness, decency, and the protection of our nation's youth. The Senior Vice President of Action, an advocacy affiliate of the Association of Mature American Citizens, has written a support letter for the Defend Girls Athletics Act. The organization Action, with over 2 million members nationwide, also stands in support of the bill.
The legislation is a response to the increasing trend of biological males being allowed to compete in female sports at both K-12 and collegiate levels. Allowing biological males to compete in female sports poses serious risks to the safety and well-being of female athletes. It is considered a gross injustice to female athletes, who have witnessed the positive impact of youth sports on character, discipline, and resilience.
Congressman Barr, in a letter dated September 8, 2025, expressed his unwavering commitment to preserving fairness and protecting young women. He wrote, "We must stand up for our daughters and granddaughters by refusing to allow radical policies that could rob them of their futures in sports."
The Defend Girls Athletics Act is urged to be supported by every member of Congress, regardless of party affiliation. As taxpayer dollars should not support institutions that disregard the basic distinctions between male and female athletes, it is crucial that this legislation is enacted to protect the future of women's sports.
